7. Andrew Miller

Andrew, the fifth son of Michael Jr. and Elizabeth, was born in 1825. In December 1857, he
married Elizabeth Lutz, daughter of George Lutz and Maria Mann. On June 17, 1858, Andrew
purchased 65 acres in Windsor Twp, which included the grist mill, from his father Michael. Andrew operated the mill until 1893 when he sold it to his son Michael. After that, he moved to York City where he remained for the rest of his life. Andrew and Elizabeth were the parents of seven children, six of them named Andrew, Michael, Charles, George, John Wesley and Sallie and an infant daughter that wasn’t named but passed away at 10 days old in March, 1863. Elizabeth passed away in 1874, leaving Andrew the father to six young children. In 1877, Andrew remarried, this time to Catharine Meyers, daughter of Henry Meyers. Andrew and Catherine did not have any children together, but they raised the six living children of Andrew. Catharine passed away in 1908 and Andrew passed away in 1912, they are buried together in the Freysville Cemetery in Windsor Twp.

Miller’s Mill – Originally built by Henry Tyson, it was purchased Michael Miller Jr. in 1839 and stayed in the Miller family until the 1970’s. Located on the south side of Kreutz Creek along Freysville Road in Windsor Township
