1. Mary Miller

Mary, the oldest daughter of Michael Jr. and Elizabeth, was born October 20, 1811. She
married Valentine Gable, who was the son of Jacob Gable and Christina Stabler. As mentioned earlier, Michael Jr. & Elizabeth sold part of the Miller homestead to Valentine & Mary and they lived in Windsor Twp as neighbors to Mary’s brother Jacob. In, 1876, they sold this property and moved to a home in Windsor borough. Mary and Valentine were the parents of nine children, who were Susan, Amos, Charles, Elias, Israel, Samuel, Isaac, Moses and Mary Ann. Isaac Gable was a prominent doctor in York County and one of the originators of York Hospital. Another prominent Gable family member is Mazie Gable, granddaughter of Mary and Valentine. Mazie Gable was a long-time and well respected teacher and principal, she has an elementary school named after in the Red Lion Area School District. Valentine passed away on February 12, 1890 and Mary passed away on September 5, 1895, both are buried at the Freysville Cemetery.
